hiring odds are like flipping a coin

Whenever any interview is taken company basically looks for perfect employee who can adapt their work culture and is perfect for the job. In any interview panel everybody has different vision. And different thinking about a particular job that is vacant. Within the duration of 15-20 mins communicating with each candidate they have to choose the employee who will be suitable for the job.  Most of the interview results are decided on the first impression.
So we can say hiring odds are like flipping a coin.
Generally all the hiring officials are looking for nothing but what this candidate has which is unique and good for their company.

1. Good points that candidate has:
Candidate can have many good points he can be good in communicating but if he doesn't have that much confidence while interacting with other employees who are taking his interview there are less chances of his getting selected.
Not only good communication will be observed here what else does the candidate has with good communication is he able to resolve conflicts; how well can he handle his customers;
how well is his appearance and body language.
Generally through too much stress sometimes company can miss out good employees who were more eligible for the work then the current employees that are working. Therefore this is one of the major reasons why hiring odds are like flipping a coin.

2. Very few times in an interview interviewing panel can see original behavior of the employee:
Generally when the interview takes place people pretend to be confident and nothing else but it is the job of the interviewer to find out real nature of the employee is he money driven; or power driven etc.
If more and more questions are asked with real life scenarios given we can easily find out what candidate exactly is. When candidate gets really uncomfortable what his body language is; how well can he communicate to get out of the situation. Weakness which are listed in his resume can he use them to his strengths etc.

3. If candidate is giving some situation listen very carefully:
 Generally when inquired about strengths and weakness candidates start giving their scenarios when they are giving you the situation their expressions their body language and their situation is to be observed the way that is situation is presented and whatever they did was it wrong or right is to be taken into consideration and open ended questions related to that scenario can be asked. Sometimes candidates can make mistakes in communicating but if he took some correct steps he can be good for the company. But there are chances of rejecting again a good employee because of lack of communication skills.

4. Give candidate points:
On the basis of his appearance; his body language; his communication skills we can give him points then going a bit deeper his knowledge required for the work; his area of expertise; his reactions when put into uncomfortable situations; we can give points and then it will be easy to discuss with the other panel about yes or no. and then again going into deep points.

5. Have a talk with other interviewers in the panel:
After giving the employees points on 1-5 talk about them tell interviewers in the panel what is good and bad according to you. There are chances that you may have some different view points then others. Why you feel that this particular employee is good and how according to you his strengths and area of expertise is good for the company.
